Marin Cerchez

Marin Cerchez (pronounced mah-REEN ser-CHEZ) is a pastor and teacher focused on helping Christians understand their faith clearly in an age of confusion.

He came to faith as a young adult after growing up under Soviet atheism in Moldova, where Christianity was suppressed and access to Scripture was limited. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, he obtained a Bible for the first time. Through reading it, he came to faith in Jesus Christ.

Unlike many who grow up within a Christian tradition, Marin had no prior Christian framework to rely on. His background was shaped entirely by atheistic and communist ideology. As a result, he had to study, evaluate, and make sense of the Christian faith from the ground up—wrestling with different denominations, theological systems, and competing claims in order to understand what is true.

In those early years, he witnessed a powerful spiritual awakening marked by a deep hunger for truth and widespread transformation—resembling, in many ways, the Book of Acts. Churches were often unavailable or disrupted, and believers gathered in simple settings, including homes, open spaces, and even under a tree.

That experience of Christianity without structure, combined with later experience within established institutions, gives him a unique perspective on both genuine faith and the confusion present in modern Christian life.

Before entering pastoral ministry, Marin trained and worked as a medical doctor and served as a university professor. His academic formation spans medicine, cultural anthropology, history, and theology, providing a broad and integrated understanding of both human nature and the development of ideas.

This background shapes how he approaches the Christian faith: with conviction, clarity, and careful analysis—testing spiritual claims, cultural influences, and theological teaching against Scripture.

He has served in ministry across Europe and the United States, focusing on evangelism, discipleship, and engaging questions of faith in both church and public settings.

Marin teaches from a firm conviction that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God and the foundation by which all teaching, experience, and claims must be tested.

His work is centered on one goal: helping Christians understand their faith clearly—what is true, what is not, and what actually matters.

He lives in the United States with his family.
